Funding for Apprenticeships comes from the Government through the Skills Funding Agency. For 16-18 year olds, there is no cost to employers; for those over 19, there is an expectation of employer contribution although this may vary across age groups and sectors. There is no charge to Apprentices. As employees, all Apprentices are paid during their Apprenticeships with 16 - 18 year olds and those in the first year of level 2 or 3 Apprenticeships receiving a wage of £3.30 per hour. All other Apprentices are entitled to the National Minimum Wage for their age.
These are fully funded by the EFA for 16-18 year olds and by the SFA for those between 19 and 24 years.There is no charge to employers offering Traineeships and the positions are unwaged.
The Norfolk Training Services Study Programmes , Skills Bridge, is funded by the EFA and learners can claim travel expenses.
The Work Programme
There is no charge for any service delivered through the Work Programme to either employers or clients.
The Norfolk Training Services Schools Programme
Schools pay a small charge per student.
