ADR/Dangerous Goods in Packages & Tankers: Initial & Refresher Training

The regulations which govern the transportation of dangerous goods requires the adequate training of drivers of tankers, tank containers, bulk and packaged substances. Drivers transporting listed dangerous goods in vehicles over 3.5 tonnes must obtain an ADR Training Certificate for the classes of goods they wish to transport. ADR certificates are valid for five years.

All ADR exams are now completed online! No more waiting around for paper exams to be marked....get your results on the last day of the course and receive your new license within 5 working days!

Who should attend this course?

NTS ADR courses are designed for staff who transport listed dangerous goods in both tankers and packages. Regularly-held courses are available at our approved training centre in Norwich or at customers’ premises, subject to approval.

This course is provided by the Department of Transport, is administered by the Scottish Qualifications Authority and consists of modules of training followed by an examination.

Please find below further general information about the qualification; details of the NTS ADR Initial and Refresher training programme; our Initial and Refresher price lists and a calendar setting out dates for training courses.

Drivers’ hours’ regulations
Attendance at courses is a legal requirement of the occupation and we, as training providers, must make drivers and their employers aware of the requirements of the drivers’ hours regulations if courses are undertaken at weekends or on other drivers’ rest days.

Driver CPC hours with ADR

For drivers obtaining their Dangerous Goods ADR qualification with us, it is possible to credit some of the training hours towards the Driver CPC.

An ADR Course covering Core, Tanks, Packages and 7 Classes can be counted as 28 hours of Periodic Training at a cost of £49.95 + VAT + £35 Driver CPC upload to the DVSA database (Total £94.94).

This costing is in addition to the normal ADR course costs.
